The J. M. Little competition this year was under the stewardship of the Assistant Match Secretary Bruce Bett. The first round was held on Saturday, 1st September, 2018, and a good entry of 40 members took part. The winners were first Dennis Smith with a score of 81(19)62; second was Alistair McVie on 72(7)65; and third was Scott Galloway on 71(5)66. Three players scored a two at the nominated holes; Matthew Brass & Ian Stephenson at the 6th; and Greig Temple at the 18th. The entry fee was £3, making a total of £120 from the 40 players; £75 was paid to the winners with £15 to the 2's winners, thus leaving £30 to be carried forward. The 2nd Round was played on Saturday, 8th and the winners of this round were first Les Rutherford with a score of 72(9)63(bih);
second was Thomas Bell on 71(8)(63); and third was Robert Forrest on 77(12)65. None of the players managed to score a two at the nominated holes. The entry fee was £3, making a total of £114 from the 38 members who took part; and again £75 was paid out to the winners, leaving a surplus of £39. The overall result produced a more than worthy winner in the shape of Scott Galloway with an excellent net score of 132; closely followed by Dennis Smith with another good score of net 134. Third was Les Rutherford on a net score of 135(bsr). The overall winners received £60 in prizes, leaving £9 for the contingency fund.
